| 2026-03-12: Cocopedia.com is now using a new caching system that should make things faster. Please let me know if you encounter any new issues.
2026-03-15: MediaWiki has been reinstalled and the old database and files restored. It was pretty clogged up from being upgraded so many times since 2004. I am also testing out Cloudflare to see if it can prevent the 'bot assaults that took the site down last year. 2026-03-16: Special thanks to Don Barber for hosting a backup mirror of CoCopedia: https://cocopedia.dgb3.net |

4) TJBChris has a video showing the Coco 3 getting 27 Extended BASIC error messages (no disk), and sample code that generates them, as well as an explanation of each error: https://youtu.be/qKW3CXcYZDo He also added an addendum of 2 additional error messages, including one not mentioned in the Coco 3 manuals. He also points out that NE (File Doesn't Exist) error, normally associated with Disk BASIC, does exist in Extended BASIC, as it was a possible error with the DLOAD command (for downloading files over the Network Controller II, etc.). And he has a bonus of some hardcoded copyright notices on the Coco 3, that is even there if the hardware it supports isn't hooked up. https://youtu.be/xxWEWS2pi5o
5) Ed Snider gave an update on the GIME-X: It will support a turbo mode that will let your Coco 3 run at 2.86 MHz! He has a video showing filling the 32x16 screen with 1000 random characters (from BASIC) at the original .895 MHz, Coco 3 1.78 Mhz, and the new Turbo 2.86 MHz: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10157699845417641/

8) I released a 6309 version of the Tandy Skiing cartridge on Facebook and the Color Computer archive soon. Since it is frame locked, it doesn't play faster, but since the rendering speed is faster, I think it looks smoother. David Ladd recorded a side by side video (6809 on left, 6309 on right) - do you think it looks smoother? https://youtu.be/jJ8A7MEq18M
9) Todd Wallace put up a video demo of his upcoming game, Clickomania, for the Coco 3, showing the difference in joystick/mouse resolution using the stock 6 bit joystick, and using the high res routines in software that John Kowalski & Nick Marentes came up with: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2359462640/permalink/10157703272737641/
10) Al Hartman sent a link for a network card/software solution for the TRS-80 Z80 based computers that supports encrypted DropBox transfers, done by Peter Cetinski, which might a good base for doing something similar on a Coco: http://www.pski.net/trs-box/
