2026-03-12: Cocopedia.com is now using a new caching system that should make things faster. Please let me know if you encounter any new issues.

2026-03-15: MediaWiki has been reinstalled and the old database and files restored. It was pretty clogged up from being upgraded so many times since 2004. I am also testing out Cloudflare to see if it can prevent the 'bot assaults that took the site down last year.

2026-03-16: Special thanks to Don Barber for hosting a backup mirror of CoCopedia: https://cocopedia.dgb3.net

=========================================

Coco 1/2/3 (and multi-platform)

1) Wayne Aaron posted on the Coco Facebook page that a friend of his wife's, named Wanda Cole, made a new Coco T-Shirt design. Those interested in it can contact Wanda from Wayne's Facebook post:

2) Jim Brain announced that the Glenside Color Computer Club is now officially recognized as a non-profit organization, which actually allows donors to write off donations on their taxes. More details of what this means are on the Glenside site:

 https://www.glensideccc.com/non-profit-501c3-status-official/

3) I think I missed this last week, for the Fall 2021 Glenside newsletter PDF was released last week, after some delays:

4) Color Computer Programming on YouTube has released a couple more BASIC tutorial/exploration videos for the Coco 1/2:

 His first one goes into creating walls/boundaries that block a joystick controlled sprite:

The second is called "Exploring screens 4-6 of Tales of Suburbia", which is a BASIC graphics adventure style game that he is working on:

Game On news (all Coco related platforms):

==============================

1) Nick Marentes has a video update about his Zero Hour game:

 https://youtu.be/FiYUObCDg8k

2) The latest episode of Sibling Rivalry (episode 20) is a Coco flavored followup to last weeks episode, when they played Intellivision "Deep Pockets", a pool game. This time around they play 8-Ball by Anteco Software (originally one of the few 3rd party cartridge games). You can save any questions you may have for them next week, when both Tim and AJ are our special interview guests:

3) Guillaume Major has managed to fix (and un-copy protect) 3 of Oblique Triad's Coco 3 games from late 1980's (Caladuril 2: Flame of Light, Those Darn Marbles and The Seventh Link), so that they can now be more easily copied and also work in the emulators. The announcement was on Facebook, and they are on the archive now:

4) Pedro Pana (Rocky Hill on YouTube) put up a video of him playing this week's Game On Challenge (Space Race), as a way to test his Daquiri board (which replaces the custom DAC chip, which handles both joystick and sound that the game uses). Seems to work on both counts:
