2026-03-15: MediaWiki has been reinstalled and the old database and files restored. It was pretty clogged up from being upgraded so many times since 2004. I am also testing out Cloudflare to see if it can prevent the 'bot assaults that took the site down last year.

The DRIVEWIRE.ZIP can be downloaded Here. It contains the PC server software and images of HDB-DOS which can be used to access DriveWire from the Disk Extended BASIC environment, or DW3DOS to boot the Color Computer directly into NitrOS9.

The Contents of the file are:


The first three files are direct copies of the contents of "track 34" of a DriveWire boot disk. You have to use a disk editor and insert the file directly to track 34 and them mark the track in the gran table as used. Issuing the "DOS" command will then boot the system.

  • dw3dos_cc1.trk - Boot Track (track 34) file to make a Color Computer 1 Boot Disk for OS9/NitrOS9
  • dw3dos_cc2.trk - Boot Track (track 34) file to make a Color Computer 2 Boot Disk for OS9/NitrOS9
  • dw3dos_cc2.trk - Boot Track (track 34) file to make a Color Computer 3 Boot Disk for OS9/NitrOS9


  • dw3dos_dsk_cc1.rom - ROM image to boot to OS9/NitrOS9 from a Color Computer 1
  • dw3dos_dsk_cc2.rom - ROM image to boot to OS9/NitrOS9 from a Color Computer 2
  • dw3dos_dsk_cc3.rom - ROM image to boot to OS9/NitrOS9 from a Color Computer 3
